I love trying out new software, and if that software is in the cloud then all the better. Being able to connect from any device that can access the internet means that you’re no longer tied to your desk. As I work with businesses remotely it’s really important that we have access to the same information, even though we’re not in the same location. There are a number of tools I use to ensure that you have access to the information you need for your business, and I’m as connected to your business as I would be as an employee.
Xero - accounts software
Whether it’s checking your cashflow, sending an invoice to a client, or reconciling your bank statement, bookkeeping should be stress free and maybe even, dare I say it, fun! I believe that you should have access to your financial information anytime and anywhere, and with Xero you have real-time information at your fingertips. When you have 24 / 7 access to the health of your business all in one place, you can manage your business effectively and confidently. Daily checks of the numbers is often the top of the list when successful business owners are asked for their top tips.
There is a huge network of add-on applications to help you manage all aspects of your business. These include point of sale, time tracking, inventory management, invoicing and expenses, plus a wide range of other specialised software.
If you’d like to see how implementing Xero can revolutionise your business, get in touch with me today. I can help you to set up a free trial and, as a Certified Advisor, help you to get the most out of the software.
AutoEntry - recording expenses
How many times have you set aside time to get your finances in order only to find that half of your receipts are missing and the others are crumpled and barely legible? Now think how much easier it would be to be able to simply take a photo of your receipt when you make a purchase, and then be able to forget all about it. AutoEntry makes submitting your paperwork to your bookkeeper so much easier. Never miss being able to claim an expense on your tax return because you’ve lost a receipt again!
Zoom - video conferencing
Just because we’re not in the same office doesn’t mean that we can’t work closely together. With Zoom we can meet face-to-face, wherever we happen to be. It’s not just useful for a quick catch-up call though, this is the method I use for Xero training, perfect for if the rest of your support team are also based remotely.
